Measuring and Ordering Macrame Ring Lace
- Ring Lace Drop Length - This is the measurement from top to bottom, tip to tip. Measurements can vary slightly, from bolt to bolt. The drop lengths vary from design to design. These are fixed lengths. You will be purchasing width, priced by the foot.
- The rings will "take up" curtain width as they are threaded from front to back on the rod. The larger diameter the rod is, the more take up there is. Our 1.5 times the rod width guideline has proven very satisfactory over the last 20 years. Too full, and you will not see the pattern.
- There must be an even number of rings on each curtain. Threading from front to back, an even number will make both sides turn slightly to the back. An odd number of rings will leave one side turned to the back and the other side turning to the front.
- We have discovered that the cut edges are very sturdy and if washed on a gentle cycle and hung to dry, or hand washed and laid flat to dry, they will be fine. There is a product for sealing knits - one brand name is Fray Check - which can be found in most Notions sections, that can be applied to the edges, if desired.
- Macrame ring lace can be cut with sharp scissors. We will be happy to do this for you. Please make sure you tell us the Curtain Widths for cutting, not rod widths.
Custom Ring Lace with Sheers
- For longer curtain panels, the macrame trim lace can be sewn to a sheer. It is a good idea to call and discuss. There are various header options and prices are quoted on an order by order basis.
- We be happy to assist you. Swatches are available at no charge.
